THE CUSTOM DESIGN PROCESS
The first and most important step is getting to know each other. I have to get a sense of who you are and your design style. And you want to be sure that I am the jeweller who will create the jewelry of your dreams.
Your initial design consultation is complementary and begins with a one-on-one meeting, whether in person or virtually via Zoom or Facetime.
Prior to our meeting, I invite you to fill out the Private Commission form below.
When we meet, we discuss everything and I even do some counter sketches (quick drawings to explore ideas). By this point, I will have enough information to prepare your estimate for your finished piece of jewelry, which I will submit for your approval (see THE FINE PRINT below).
NEXT STEPS
From there, I start designing and present you with a number of sketches. We will review them together and you choose the one that speaks most to you. I refine it based on your input until it is simply perfect.
I then source your gemstones or diamonds from my personally vetted network of reputable, ethically minded gem dealers (100% payment of the diamonds and gemstones is required).
Whether your piece of jewelry is hand constructed, hand carved in wax or designed on the computer, I keep you posted with information and images throughout the process. It is exciting to see a piece of jewelry evolve... to see it come to life.
All this leads up to the big moment... the unveiling of your beautiful piece of custom-designed jewelry that we created together.

THE FINE PRINT
CONTRACT
Once the estimate of the cost for the custom piece is agreed upon by you and me, we make it official by signing some paperwork with all the terms and design details clearly specified.
DEPOSIT
I require a 35% non-refundable deposit to commence designing. A second 35% deposit is required upon approval of the selected design, as well as 100% of the cost of any gemstones or diamonds that need to be purchased for the creation of your piece. The balance is due prior to delivery of your finished bespoke or custom piece. On pieces over $5000, partial deposit may be refunded, depending on the stage of completion of the jewelry. Sale of diamonds and gemstones is final and these beauties belong to you.
DESIGN
Should the final design stray from the initial cost breakdown I provided in the original estimate, I will adjust the estimate accordingly if needed (up or down, depending on your design decisions) and ask you to sign the updated agreement before proceeding.
DELIVERY
Delivery will depend on the complexity of the design. It can take anywhere from 4-16 weeks. Simple bespoke pieces can take as few as 7 days.

I CHANGED MY MIND. WHAT ABOUT REFUNDS & EXCHANGES?
OOPS, THE RING DOESN'T FIT. DO YOU DO RING SIZING?
Ring size is always a bit tricky if you are commissioning a piece of jewelry for someone other than yourself. Therefore, I will be pleased to resize up to one ring size if the fit is not right. A greater jump in size may require the ring to be remade, the price for which will be determined should the case arise. Some designs such as eternity bands or rings with intricate details or certain gemstones cannot be resized. Please allow 1-2 weeks for resizing.
DO YOU DO GOLD EXCHANGE?
Yes. You can use the "scrap" value of your gold and platinum towards the final price of your piece.
I'M JUST SHOPPING AROUND FOR NOW. CAN YOU GIVE ME AN ESTIMATE?
Absolutely. I am more than please to give you a non-committal ballpark estimate, but please remember that all estimates are subject to change based on market fluctuations, availability of gemstones and final design details.
There is a $150 fee to research and price high-end gemstones, luxury watches or estate, antique and rare jewelry pieces. This fee is subtracted from your final invoice when you commission me to design and create your jewelry, or hire me to source other jewelry requests.
I KNOW I WANT TO OFFER A GIFT OF CUSTOM JEWELRY, BUT I AM NOT SURE IF I CAN MAKE ALL THE DESIGN DECISIONS. ANY SUGGESTIONS?

DO YOU OFFER FINANCING?
YES. I work with Flexiti, a reputable Canadian company that lets Canadian bank account holders obtain INTEREST-FREE financing. Subject to credit approval. I expect to offer my USA clients a similar service in 2021.
